What is the status of Preservation Law in the United States today, 45 years after the passage of New York City's Landmarks Law?

Keynote Address by Jerold Kayden, Frank Backus Williams Professor of Urban Planning and Design at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.

Panel Discussion led by storied New York preservationist Anne Van Ingen, with Paul Edmondson, Vice President and General Counsel, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Tersh Boasberg, Adjunct Professor of Law, Georgetown Law and Jerold Kayden.


A Tale of Three Cities: Challenges to Municipal Preservation Laws Across the Nation.

Preservation experts from Chicago, Seattle and Los Angeles meet to discuss some of the issues they are currently facing in their respective cities, featuring Brian Goeken, Deputy Commissioner, Historic Preservation Division, City of Chicago Department of Zoning and Land Use Planning; Karen Gordon, City Historic Preservation Officer, Seattle, Washington; and Linda Dishman, Executive Director, Los Angeles Conservancy.  Moderated by Tom Mayes, Deputy General Counsel, National Trust for Historic Preservation.

An in-depth discussion with some of New York City's leading preservation experts, featuring Mark Silberman, General Counsel, New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, Margery Perlmutter, Member, New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, Al Butzel, Albert K.
